OUR MANIFESTO

In a world that so often objectifies people, DETAILS provides a more human and humane experience. We are an agency that focuses on our artists first and foremost by including them throughout our process. Diversity, inclusion, and authenticity are at the very center of most of our current discussions, but actively engaging with these words in our daily practices is key to what makes DETAILS different from other agencies. Models, agents, photographers, and every other collaborator on a project should be on an equal level in order to cooperate and make this community a better place. That is why DETAILS works with the human experience at its very core. Transparency, respect, and a meticulous attention to detail, safety, and comfort are at the forefront of every collaboration.

The name DETAILS comes from a desire to rethink the industry’s language. Rather than looking for perfection, we’re aiming to emphasize the good and the beautiful that comes out of every artist we work with, from an obviously detail-oriented perspective. Rather than focus on a model’s measurements, height, or skin texture, we are interested in the details that make you “you.” We’re tired of reading and hearing about words such as “imperfections.” Our goal is to emphasize beauty in all its multitudes.

THE PERSON BEHIND DETAILS

As a nonbinary model and someone with acne, I’ve experienced my fair share of weird moments on sets. I’ve heard people talk about my acne in front of me as if I wasn’t there, I’ve been actively misgendered, and my chosen name and pronouns haven’t been respected. My goal for DETAILS is to ensure that this won’t happen to any of the artists I work with. I want our artists and models to feel safe, respected, and in good hands, and I don’t want to offer anything less to anyone joining our team. As a queer, gender non-conforming person, it is important to me that people feel that their identities are welcome as they are.

As someone with a background in literary studies, I know the importance of language and communication, and I want to ensure good communications between all parties involved.

Our Values

  • Although the industry normalizes keeping contracts and conversations about money under wraps, everyone involved in a project should be clear about these arrangements. We want our artists included in every part of the work, and we strive to inform and include everyone in all communications that regard them and the contracts they’ll be working on.

  • Representation of people who are historically marginalized, body diverse, disabled, trans, queer, and nonbinary should not be an afterthought or a box to tick when you go through your project checklist. Meaningful representation is at the forefront of our work, and this representation comes from a place of true care and desire to include and uplift. At DETAILS, representation is about more than simply adding diversity to a campaign “because it’s 2021.” Thus, the diversity in gender, sexuality, disability, age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, race, and culture that our people bring to DETAILS is a resource, strength, and benefit that we want to highlight and respect.

  • We aim to engage actively and openly with everyone we come in contact with. We will continually revisit our manifesto and ensure that we respect what we preach. Because DETAILS was started from a place of finding that something is missing in our industry, our goal is to actively deconstruct preconceived ideas of how things “should” work and demonstrate that a different future is possible. We hope to continue learning as we go.

  • While some of our agency objectives include finding and dealing with contracts and assisting with communications between artists and companies, we also aspire to facilitate a platform and community that is based in respect and the desire to collaborate and inspire. DETAILS is all about supporting and uplifting our artists’ work.

Our contracts aim for collaborative agreement towards everyone’s best interest. We understand that people change and grow, and some artists might desire to be represented by someone else in the future. We do not intend to own anyone, nor do we feel entitled to parts of your success. The goal of DETAILS is to help curate a diverse group of artists for brands to hire and to further everyone’s career goals according to their own needs and desires—in other words, a truly human experience.
