Sonia Halpern-Bazar is a neurodivergent and lactose-intolerant multidisciplinary artist from Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal. They received their MFA in photography from Concordia University. Through sculpture, photography, and poetry, their practice examines the notion of alien landscapes, intimacy, and how the body belongs to spaces.

What inspires you the most from your practice?

My biggest inspiration comes from personal and time-based histories. I’m also forever inspired by the work of my peers and other artists around me. I’m currently totally obsessed with Michaela Stark’s body experiments and Dayna Danger’s beaded masks.
